The Las Vegas Jazz Society was founded April 22, 1975 by Monk Montgomeryrenown jazz artist, and pioneer of the of the use of the electric bass in jazz.

Las Vegas Jazz Society (LVJS) is a 501 c3 non-profit, run by an all volunteer board.

LVJS supports live jazz in Las Vegas; we present local groups from big bands to small combos, both instrumental and vocal.  Featuring diverse jazz, mostly mainstream, contemporary, and occasionally third stream, blues and R&B influenced jazz.
